Help Friendship Place pay for a mobile food trailer

SWIM for a Trailer?

We are so grateful to the community for helping us reach our goal of $10,000 to fund the purchase of the mobile food trailer. With a few days left until Caroline's swim, we've raised the goal to $14,000! All additional donations raised will go to providing food through our Georgetown EATS program. We hope you can help us reach our extended goal.

Help Friendship Place cover the costs of our new food trailer by supporting Caroline "Swim the Loop." A 3.5 mile, open water endurance swim in Wilmington, NC on October 9, 2022.

The goal is $10,000. This will pay for the new trailer as well as the wrapping. Please support Caroline as she trains for this challenging event to support Friendship Place.

According to the USDA, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, in the United States are food insecure. The pandemic has increased food insecurity among families with children and communities of color, who already faced hunger at much higher rates before the pandemic. (https://www.feedingamerica.org/)

Friendship Place is expanding their food programs to include fighting Food Insecurities in Georgetown. Our Current EATS Program provides cooked or bagged lunch meals to our neighbors in need Monday - Friday and Holiday meals throughout the year. With the help of the Friendship Place Mobile Food Drive, we hope to grow the amount of food items coming into Friendship Place to enhance/grow our current meal program as well as target take home meals to those neighbors in need. The take home meal will be completed and available for pick up from Friendship Place. The goal is for this to be free of fear and judgement for our neighbors. The Mobile Food Drive will be placed in front of area Communities, Schools, Churches and Businesses making food donations very convenient to our supporters while exposing the public to the programs of Friendship Place.
