Access to Behavioral Health Services is one of the most critical issues facing Georgetown County. The RBLC is a new, local and creative approach to meeting the unmet mental health needs in our area. Please come and meet the therapists and learn about all the great things they are doing to impact our community and how you can help! Get Carried Away will be catering the event with some great appetizers. Beer and wine will also be available.

Behavioral Health Issues:

1 in 6 U.S. children aged 2–8 years have a diagnosed mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder.

50% of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14 and the average delay between onset of symptoms and intervention is 8-10 years.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the percentage of children seeking mental health care in emergency departments in 2020 increased by 25-30% compared to 2019.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death in children 10 years of age and older.

Success:

Joyce (pictured on the right) represents just one of the many families positively impacted by the RBLC. She takes advantage of the myriad services offered and is an active member of Georgetown Works. Learn more about Joyce and her amazing story on October 24, 21.

Thank You Tree

The RBLC Thank You Tree was recently added to lobby as a tool for clients to express their feelings about visiting the RBLC.

With the support of Friendship Place, along with the Bunnelle Foundation and Mr. Jody Tamsberg, RBLC was able to open its doors to the community in June of 2020. With the efforts of 3 Licensed Professional Counselors, 2 Licensed Psycho-Educational Specialists, 1 Speech Therapist, and 1 Occupational Therapist, RBLC continues to push forward in effort to provide high quality mental health and developmental services. The team of therapists are tirelessly working to meet the needs of the community and the waitlist continues to grow. We invite you to attend our event to better understand the impact RBLC is having on the community and to consider supporting us.
